Which is better? Comparation of all-steel lab bench and steel-wood lab bench
Many of our customers want to know which is better, steel-wood lab bench or all-steel lab bench. Sager Lab Furniture as a professional laboratory furniture manufacturer and supplier, we will introduce which kind of lab benches is better.
First of all, we must first understand the difference between the two:
The steel-wood lab bench is basically a steel frame combined with wood cabinets. The support of the test bench is made of epoxy resin sprayed steel tubes after pickling and phosphating. The cabinet is generally made of melamine particleboards.
The all-steel expriment bench is made of steel plates by bending, spraying, and assembling. The cabinet body is generally made of steel plate after pickling and phosphating treatment and then sprayed with epoxy resin. It is often classified into floor mounted type, hanging type, and movable cabinet type. The all-steel lab bench is made of steel literally.
1, load-bearing performance
Through the difference between the two, it is not difficult to see that the load-bearing capacity of steel and wood bench is mainly depended by the square steel tube frame, while the square steel tube is usually 40*60mm. The load-bearing performance of the all-steel bench is different. The bench is supported by the cabinets. Obviously, under the same seat space design and benchtop material, the load-bearing performance of the all-steel bench is better than the steel-wood bench.
2, high temperature resistance
There is no need to consider high temperature resistance at room temperature lab, but when we consider high temperature laboratories, we believe you all know the results, steel-wood benches are not as good as all-steel benches. After all, the ovens and muffle furnaces etc. could be often used in a lab. Therefore, when you design a high-temperature instrument table, the best way is excluding cabinet under the countertop. If you need to have cabinets, use an all-steel cabinet will be a better choice. Through experimental verification, the steel-wood test bench can withstand a high temperature of one to two hundred degrees Celsius, but the high temperature resistance of the all-steel test bench can be several times higher.
3. Lifespan
The durability of general all-steel is better than steel-wood (equivalent countertops). In terms of strength and toughness, the all-steel lab bench is much better than the steel-wood bench. Under the same conditions of use, the service life of the all-steel test bench could be 5-10 years longer than that of the steel-wood test bench, or even longer.
As a laboratory furniture manufacturer, Sager Lab Furniture can provide these two kinds of laboratory benches with high quality and good price. Welcome to contact us for more information.
